Islamabad: Shahzad Town police have apprehended a two-member gang suspected of involvement in pickpocketing and theft, recovering stolen local and foreign currency valued at Rs. 1.1 million. According to Islamabad Capital Police, the individuals, identified as Arif and Faqir, allegedly took the cash from a victim who had recently exchanged money.
Upon receiving a tip about the incident, the Shahzad Town police registered a case and promptly initiated an investigation. Utilizing advanced technical resources, CCTV footage, and human resources, the police gathered evidence and arrested the suspects swiftly. The stolen cash was retrieved from their possession.
SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized that the Islamabad Police are conducting targeted operations against organized criminal elements. He reiterated that ensuring the safety of citizens’ lives and property is a priority, with all available resources being employed to combat crime. He also mentioned that these efforts will be intensified to foster a safe environment for the community.
