ISLAMABAD: In a concerted effort to combat crime, the Islamabad Police have arrested 18 individuals involved in various criminal activities, recovering narcotics and weapons in the process. The operation, which underscores the police’s commitment to maintaining security in the federal capital, led to the seizure of significant quantities of drugs and a firearm.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests included six individuals apprehended for their involvement in different criminal activities. During these operations, law enforcement officers confiscated 589 grams of ice, 2,831 grams of heroin, and a pistol with ammunition. Legal cases have been filed against the suspects, and investigations are ongoing.
In addition to these arrests, a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders resulted in the apprehension of 12 more criminals. Initiated under the explicit directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the crackdown aims to curb criminality and reinforce peace and order in the city.
SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, emphasized the police’s dedication to safeguarding the lives and property of Islamabad’s residents. He assured the public that maintaining peace and protecting citizens are top priorities for the police force. Furthermore, he encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activities to the police or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to foster cooperation between the community and law enforcement, hoping this collaboration will help eradicate crime from society.
