Islamabad: The Senate and National Assembly have both approved two significant legislative measures concerning the country’s defense framework. The bills, titled “The National Command Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2026” and “The Defence Forces of Pakistan Bill, 2026,” were passed in both houses today.
According to Radio Pakistan, the legislative process saw both bills successfully navigate through the Senate and the National Assembly, marking a crucial step in the country’s defense policy. The National Assembly session also addressed plans by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to establish an education city in the federal capital, a move that includes relocating over 300 schools from residential areas to designated sites.
The Senate session concluded with an adjournment, with proceedings set to resume at 10:30 a.m. the following day. Meanwhile, the National Assembly will reconvene tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. as the legislative agenda continues to unfold.
