LAHORE: On National Minorities Day, the Punjab Police reiterated its commitment to protecting the rights of minority communities and ensuring their safety. Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem emphasized the department’s dedication to serving minority groups, including Hindus, Christians, and Sikhs, and acknowledged their significant contributions to Pakistan’s development.

According to Punjab Police, Meesaq Centers have been instrumental in providing services to minority citizens and promoting interfaith harmony. The centers have benefited over 90,500 minority citizens across Punjab this year, resolving issues for more than 23,200 individuals. The centers have facilitated a range of services, including those offered by Police Khidmat Marakaz, to 63,600 minority citizens.

The Punjab Police spokesperson highlighted that in Lahore alone, Meesaq Centers have assisted more than 24,500 minority citizens. The issues of over 8,000 individuals have been resolved, and services related to Police Khidmat Markaz have been provided to more than 12,000 minority citizens. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem also noted the efforts of Christian officers at the centers, who work diligently to address the concerns of minority citizens and facilitate access to police-related services.
