Lahore: In a significant departmental move, 25 corporals of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) have been promoted to under-officers, following a directive from Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar. This promotion, held at the CTD headquarters, marks a notable advancement under the revised career progression rules for CTD personnel.
According to Punjab Police, the departmental promotion board meeting, chaired by senior officials, approved 13 corporals for regular promotion, while 12 were elevated on officiating terms. The promotions are in line with new guidelines allowing CTD corporals to advance up to Grade 19, reflecting an effort to enhance career paths within the department.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, in congratulating the newly promoted officers, expressed his optimism for their continued dedication and enhanced responsibilities. He highlighted that these promotions were keenly supported by Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, underlining the provincial government’s commitment to strengthening counter-terrorism efforts.
Dr. Anwar also issued a directive to all promoted corporals, urging them to redouble their efforts against terrorism, sectarianism, and extremism. He emphasized the importance of sustaining intelligence-based operations to dismantle terror networks and bring perpetrators to justice, ensuring peace and security across Punjab.
