Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has initiated a campaign against corruption and malpractice, establishing a confidential cell and making a helpline operational to address public complaints. According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the chief minister has mandated that reports from the confidential cell be submitted to her directly, with arrests to follow where necessary. She will personally oversee actions against corruption, requiring independent reviews of development projects’ quality and expenditure.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized swift action on complaints and urged the public to report any corruption or misuse of authority. “Action will be taken on every complaint, and the identity of the complainant will be kept completely confidential,” she stated. The chief minister assured that efforts against corrupt practices would persist until the recovery of all looted money.

The chief minister highlighted the importance of public trust and warned that anyone misusing development funds would face legal consequences. Those performing well will receive the CM Merit Badge, while those involved in corruption will be prosecuted. She reaffirmed that public funds are for public use, and no personal connections will shield individuals involved in corruption cases.
