Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has laid the foundation stone for the Jinnah Avenue-Ninth Avenue and Serena Chowk-Convention Center intersections in the Federal Capital, Islamabad. These projects aim to alleviate traffic congestion and improve the flow of traffic in the city.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi briefed the Prime Minister, indicating that the Serena Chowk-Convention Center intersection is expected to be completed within sixty days, while the Jinnah Avenue-Ninth Avenue project is slated for completion in 120 days. The Minister also highlighted that measures are being taken to address traffic congestion at Faizabad, with plans to adjust the existing bridges and flyovers.
Furthermore, Naqvi mentioned the ongoing efforts to connect Margala Road to the motorway, a project currently in its final stages. He also announced the imminent commencement of constructing a safari park in the federal capital, expected to begin within ninety to one hundred days. Additionally, two locations have been identified for the auction of constructing five-star hotels, and the installation of the tallest flag in South Asia is planned for Islamabad, with sponsors being finalized.
During the ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that these infrastructure projects symbolize the start of initiatives aimed at promoting development and prosperity for the residents of Islamabad and its surrounding regions. He lauded the Interior Minister and his team for their commitment to completing the projects swiftly.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged the efforts of Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Inspector General of Islamabad Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, and other security agencies for their successful organization of the SCO conference in Islamabad last month. He commended the beautification efforts for the conference and stressed the importance of maintaining Islamabad’s aesthetic appeal throughout the year.
Shehbaz Sharif expressed optimism that Islamabad, with its natural beauty, will become a significant attraction for tourists in the future.
