ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif, praised the outgoing Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Kistafin, for his efforts in enhancing the relations between Pakistan and Kazakhstan during a farewell meeting in Islamabad. The Prime Minister acknowledged the Ambassador’s contributions to strengthening the ties between the two nations, emphasizing the historic bond of friendship and cooperation that has been furthered during Kistafin’s tenure.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister highlighted the Ambassador’s pivotal role in implementing the visit of Kazakhstan’s President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to Pakistan scheduled for February 2026. This visit is anticipated to elevate the bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership level. The Prime Minister conveyed his greetings to President Tokayev and reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to advancing its partnership with Kazakhstan across various sectors.

Ambassador Kistafin expressed gratitude for the support he received during his tenure and voiced optimism about the continued growth of Pakistan-Kazakhstan relations under the strategic partnership framework. Prime Minister Sharif extended his best wishes to the Ambassador for his future endeavors.
