President Zardari Urges Swift Action on Workplace Harassment Complaints


ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has underscored the importance of enhancing monitoring systems to ensure the prompt and effective resolution of workplace harassment complaints. He emphasized the need for a fair examination of complaints, ensuring that genuine cases are addressed efficiently, during a meeting with Fauzia Viqar, the Federal Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace.



According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari commended the Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH) for its role in protecting individuals from workplace harassment. He called for increased efforts to raise awareness about the services offered by the institution. The President also stressed that allegations should be carefully assessed according to the law, to maintain the integrity of the complaint process.



During the meeting, Fauzia Viqar presented the Annual Report 2025 of FOSPAH to President Zardari. The report detailed that FOSPAH had received over eleven hundred harassment complaints in 2024-25, with decisions reached on more than a thousand of those cases. Additionally, the report noted that over three hundred and fifty complaints related to property deprivation were received, with two hundred and thirty-eight resolved.
