President Zardari Emphasizes Merit and Transparency in Public Service Recruitment


ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has underscored the significance of merit, transparency, and professionalism in the recruitment process for public service positions. This statement was made during his meeting with Akhtar Nawaz Satti, Chairman of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), who presented the FPSC’s Annual Report 2024 to the President in Islamabad.



According to Radio Pakistan, the President highlighted the essential role of the FPSC in fostering good governance by ensuring that qualified and deserving individuals are selected for professional and technical roles within the government. He expressed his appreciation for the reforms the Commission has implemented to enhance its internal systems and progress towards a more efficient and digital recruitment process.



During the meeting, the President urged the FPSC to continue maintaining its commitment to merit, transparency, and professionalism, thereby preserving the public’s trust. He was informed that in 2024, the Commission recommended 1,816 candidates for various positions in different Ministries and Divisions through General Recruitment. These recommendations were made from a pool of 274,566 applications received against 1,722 advertised vacancies.
