Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has extended his congratulations to Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his recent election as the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

According to Press Information Department, President Zardari expressed optimism that under President Alamgir’s leadership, Bangladesh would continue to progress and enhance the well-being of its citizens. Highlighting the enduring bonds between Pakistan and Bangladesh, rooted in shared history, faith, and cultural ties, President Zardari welcomed the positive developments in bilateral relations. He expressed a desire for continued collaboration between the two nations in areas of mutual interest.

President Zardari conveyed his eagerness to work with President Alamgir to further strengthen the ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh and to promote greater exchanges and cooperation between their peoples. He also extended an invitation to the Bangladeshi President to visit Pakistan at a mutually convenient time, expressing confidence that such a visit would offer an opportunity to deepen bilateral relations.
