PML-N and PPP to conduct final talks on government formation todayElection Tribunals Appointed in Balochistan and Sindh for Election Petitions

Islamabad, The coordination committees of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) are set to hold their third round of discussions today in Islamabad, aiming to finalize their strategy for government formation. This follows the conclusion of their second round of talks, which focused on progressing toward a consensus on the structure and leadership of the potential government coalition.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the committees, which include prominent members such as Senator Ishaq Dar, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Senator Azam Nazir Tarar, and Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan from PML-N, and Syed Murad Ali Shah, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Saeed Ghani, Sardar Bahadur Khan Sehar, Nadeem Afzal Chan, and Shazi Khan from PPP, decided to undertake a third consultation session. The goal of this meeting is to finalize recommendations after seeking input from their respective political leaderships.

The dialogue represents a critical step toward establishing a cooperative framework between two of Pakistan’s major political forces. As these discussions unfold, the focus remains on crafting a comprehensive and unified approach to governance, reflecting the shared objectives and policy priorities of both parties.

Islamabad, In a significant move aimed at ensuring the integrity and smooth conduct of the electoral process, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has appointed election tribunals in Balochistan and Sindh. These tribunals are tasked with the trial and disposal of Election Petitions related to the general elections and subsequent by-elections in these provinces.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the ECP’s decision to establish these tribunals came upon the recommendations of the Chief Justices of the Balochistan and Sindh High Courts. For Karachi Division, Justice Muhammad Karim Khan Agha and Justice Adnan Iqbal Chaudhry of the Sindh High Court have been appointed. Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro will oversee Sukkur and Shaheed Benazirabad Divisions, with Justice Amjad Ali Sahito assigned to Mirpur Khas and Hyderabad Divisions, and Justice Muhammad Saleem Jessar for Larkana Division.

In Balochistan, Justice Abdullah Baloch, Justice Rozi Khan Barrech, and Justice Muhammad Aamir Nawaz Rana of the Balochistan High Court will serve as the election tribunals. These appointments reflect the ECP’s commitment to addressing and resolving election petitions efficiently, further ensuring the fairness and transparency of the electoral process in Pakistan.
