ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have arrested 28 suspected criminals and seized drugs and weapons in a series of operations aimed at curbing criminal activities in the city. The police recovered 205 grams of methamphetamine, commonly known as ice, 20 bottles of liquor, and two pistols with ammunition from the accused individuals.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests were part of an ongoing effort led by Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The operations targeted individuals involved in various criminal activities, including drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms. Additionally, a special campaign focused on apprehending proclaimed offenders and absconders resulted in the arrest of 24 more individuals.
Cases have been registered against those arrested, and investigations are progressing. SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza reiterated the police force’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of Islamabad’s residents. He emphasized that maintaining public peace and safety remains a top priority for the police.
Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activities to local police stations or the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to aid in the effort to eliminate crime through collaboration between the police and the community.
