IGP Islamabad Directs Enhanced Security Measures for Muharram-ul-Haram


Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, held a meeting to review and direct the enhancement of security measures for the upcoming Muharram-ul-Haram, aiming to ensure public safety and smooth operations during the religious period.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting, chaired by IGP Rizvi at the Central Police Office, was attended by DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq and other senior police officials. The session focused on assessing the progress of previously assigned tasks and ongoing arrangements across various departments related to Muharram-ul-Haram.



IGP Rizvi received briefings on security, traffic management, route planning, inter-division coordination, and public facilitation. He emphasized the importance of timely completion of all arrangements, utilizing all available resources to create a safe environment for citizens. The protection of life and property, uninterrupted traffic flow, and optimal public service were highlighted as top priorities.



IGP Rizvi also instructed that all planning should consider ground realities and public needs, stressing the need for exemplary coordination between departments to prevent inconvenience during processions and gatherings. He underlined the necessity for professional competence and dedication from officers and personnel in executing their duties.



The IGP further directed the implementation of the security plan, heightened surveillance of sensitive locations, and maintained close liaison with relevant departments to handle any emergencies effectively. He reiterated the commitment of Islamabad Police to maintaining law and order, protecting citizens, and facilitating public activities during Muharram-ul-Haram, with a strict stance against any negligence.
