Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has underscored the significance of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Iran in Pakistan’s foreign policy, emphasizing the need to bolster investment ties.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister articulated these views during a meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassadors to Iran and GCC countries held in Islamabad. He instructed the ambassadors to actively pursue enhanced bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and fostering people-to-people connections.
During the meeting, the ambassadors provided updates on the current state of bilateral relations, highlighting both opportunities and challenges within their respective countries. Discussions also covered strategies for strengthening economic diplomacy, boosting trade and investment ties, managing remittances, and addressing issues pertinent to the Pakistani diaspora.
The meeting further involved deliberations on the regional and international landscape, with a particular emphasis on advancing peace, stability, and economic cooperation in the broader region.
