Islamabad, April 26, 2023 (PPI-OT):The South Asian Games is a quadrennial multi-sport event held among the athletes from South Asia. South Asia Olympic Council (SAOC), the governing body of these games allocated 14th Edition of South Asian Games which will be held in 2024.

Repair/Renovation/Up gradation work of sports facilities of Sports Complex Islamabad and Coaching Centres is underway to make them of international standards so that the Games could be held in a befitting manner. Due to repair/renovation/up gradation work, some facilities were temporarily closed for the safety of athletes and members.

However, most of the facilities like Lawn Tennis Courts, Fitness Gym, Athletics Track and Football fields, Liaquat Gymnasium, Sportsperson Hostels are opened for members and national training camps of various sports disciplines are in progress since long. Besides, a number of sports events have been organized by public and private sector educational and other organizations at sports complex Islamabad during the last 1 year.

Rodham Hall and Hamidi Hall will also be inaugurated in 2nd week of May 2023 whereas, Swimming Pool will be opened in 1st week of July 2023. The management of Pakistan Sports Board is making its efforts best to get readily available the sports facilities after improvement for the athletes and general public as soon as possible.
