Pakistan Seeks to Expand Ties with Egypt and Ethiopia, Says NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq

Islamabad: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized Pakistan’s desire to strengthen relations with Egypt and Ethiopia through enhanced parliamentary and economic cooperation. In separate meetings with the Ambassadors of Egypt and Ethiopia, Speaker Sadiq highlighted the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering stronger ties between the nations.

According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Speaker Sadiq met with Egyptian Ambassador Dr. Ihab AbdelHamid Hassan at the Parliament House and discussed the historical and cultural bonds between the two countries. He expressed concern over Israeli aggression in Palestine and Lebanon, urging the international community to take action for lasting peace in the Middle East. He also invited his Egyptian counterpart to visit Pakistan with a parliamentary delegation to further solidify ties.

In a later meeting, Ethiopian Ambassador Jemal Beker Abdula and Speaker Sadiq discussed opportunities for growth in trade, industry, and education. The Speaker underscored the importance of Ethiopia as a gateway to Africa and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to its “Look Africa Policy” to strengthen ties with African nations. Both ambassadors praised Pakistan’s efforts for regional peace and stability and expressed a desire to deepen bilateral relations.
