ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, has reiterated the country’s intention to enhance cultural and media relations with Uzbekistan. In a meeting with Uzbekistan’s Ambassador, Alisher Tukhtaev, in Islamabad, both parties discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in media, film production, and cultural exchanges.
According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions highlighted potential collaborations in filmmaking, including joint productions of short films, documentaries, and drama series. Minister Tarar emphasized the importance of involving experienced production houses to ensure the success of these projects. He also suggested that large-scale film ventures could be explored through joint funding, focusing on the shared history and cultural heritage of both nations.
The Information Minister expressed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties across various sectors. He proposed initiatives such as exchange visits for journalists and collaboration between media institutions from both countries to enhance mutual understanding and professional ties. Both sides also agreed on promoting interactions between their social media teams and developing joint digital content to underline the cultural and historical connections between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
Ambassador Tukhtaev, in turn, acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in fostering regional peace and appreciated its role in the Islamabad Peace Talks.
