Geneva: Pakistan’s Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, has reiterated the country’s commitment to advancing labour rights. The statement was made during a meeting with International Labour Organization (ILO) Director-General Gilbert F. Houngbo on the sidelines of the 114th Session of the International Labour Conference (ILC).
According to Radio Pakistan, the minister highlighted ongoing efforts by Pakistan to enhance employment opportunities and improve protections for workers. The discussion emphasized the importance of promoting decent work and advancing social progress, aligning with Pakistan’s broader goals in labour development.
In response, the ILO Director-General expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s constructive engagement with the organization and welcomed the country’s continuous dedication to these objectives. The meeting underscored a mutual commitment to fostering a productive dialogue aimed at improving the conditions and rights of workers globally.
