Pakistan Protests Border Incident with India Over Civilian Deaths

Islamabad: Pakistan has lodged a strong protest with India following the killing of two Pakistani civilians by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in the Bedian Sector along the International Border. The incident, which occurred on Friday, prompted Pakistani authorities to summon the Indian Chargé d’Affaires to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Foreign Office in Islamabad issued a press release condemning the use of force by BSF personnel as unjustified and disproportionate. The statement categorically rejected any claims that the deceased were “infiltrators” and described the incident as a serious violation of fundamental human rights, including the right to life.

The Pakistani government called for an immediate, transparent, and credible investigation by Indian authorities into the incident. They demanded appropriate disciplinary and legal action against those responsible and requested formal communication of the findings and actions taken. Additionally, Pakistan urged India to respect human rights and international law, adhere to bilateral agreements and established border procedures, exercise restraint, and implement measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
