Islamabad: Pakistan today marked ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’, reaffirming its commitment to support the Kashmiri people’s pursuit of self-determination. The government and citizens of Pakistan united in their stance, emphasizing moral, diplomatic, and political backing for the Kashmir cause.
According to a statement by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, senior officials, including the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, delivered messages highlighting unwavering support for the Kashmiri people. The Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister reached out to key international figures, including the President of the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary General, through letters addressing the ongoing situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister urged the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions and advocated for a fair plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir under UN supervision. He also called upon the UN and OIC to improve the human rights situation in IIOJK.
In preparation for Kashmir Solidarity Day, a special briefing was held for diplomats in Islamabad to inform them about the situation in the region. Earlier today, Ministry officers and staff, led by the Foreign Secretary, participated in a ‘Solidarity Day Walk’ along Constitution Avenue.
Throughout the country and at Pakistani diplomatic missions worldwide, various activities, including seminars, webinars, public rallies, and photo exhibitions, are being conducted. These events aim to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people and bring attention to human rights concerns in IIOJK.
