ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Railways took place on Monday at the Parliament House, with Mr. Ramesh Lal, MNA, presiding in the absence of the Chairman. The committee examined the implementation status of previous recommendations and reviewed compliance reports from prior meetings. It also discussed future plans for upgrading railway stations and tracks across various divisions.

According to National Assembly of Pakistan, the committee also explored a proposed restructuring plan and strategic priorities for Pakistan Railways. The Secretary of Pakistan Railways provided detailed briefings and addressed questions from committee members. The committee expressed dissatisfaction over the absence of the Minister for Railways and requested his presence at subsequent meetings to enhance the effectiveness of the discussions.

The meeting included participation from multiple Members of the National Assembly, senior officials from the Ministry of Railways, and the Pakistan Railways Board, along with other key stakeholders in the railway sector.
