Pakistan, Italy, and Denmark to Enhance Trade and Investment Cooperation

Islamabad: The ambassadors of Italy and Denmark met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, to explore ways to enhance trade, investment, and economic cooperation between the countries. The meeting, held in the Minister’s office, focused on diversifying trade partnerships and building resilient supply systems amid global disruptions.

According to Press Information Department, the Minister emphasized Pakistan’s strategic role in global trade, highlighting the country’s potential due to its large consumer base, natural resources, and strategic location. He pointed out that Pakistan’s tariff reforms are designed to reduce tariffs over a five-year period, promoting export-led growth and competitiveness. Discussions included potential opportunities in non-traditional sectors and the dairy industry, with the Danish side presenting innovative projects for waste reduction and value addition.

The meeting addressed investment climate and intellectual property concerns, with the Minister assuring adherence to international standards. The discussions also covered emerging export opportunities, particularly in livestock and meat, where Pakistan has seen increased demand. The session concluded with a commitment to strengthen economic ties and foster business linkages between the three countries.
