Muzaffarabad: Head of Haq Do Tehreek Azad Kashmir, Dr. Irfan Ashraf, paid tribute to Pakistani martyrs, including Shaheed Hayat Khan, asserting that their sacrifices have rendered Pakistan’s defense invincible.
During a commemorative event at the mausoleum of Shaheed Hayat Khan, who was martyred in the 1965 war, Dr. Ashraf highlighted the historical bond between Kashmiris and Pakistan. The event was attended by political workers, the martyr’s family, and Additional Assistant Commissioner Zahid Chauhan representing the local administration. Many local residents, government officials, and community members also participated, offering floral tributes at the grave.
Dr. Ashraf reflected on the historical ties between Kashmir and Pakistan, referencing resistance against Maharaja Gulab Singh in 1832 and the subsequent sacrifices of Kashmiris. He cited Ghazi-e-Millat Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan’s role in the Resolution of Accession to Pakistan in 1947.
He criticized narratives against Pakistan’s ideology, warning of destabilizing forces like the TTP in Azad Kashmir. “We must stay alert,” he urged, emphasizing regional peace.
Other speakers, including several local leaders, echoed Dr. Ashraf’s sentiments regarding the importance of Pakistan’s military sacrifices. The event concluded with a collective vow to maintain peace, honor the martyrs, and protect national interests.
