Pakistan and US to Strengthen Ties in IT and Telecommunication

Islamabad, In a significant move to bolster bilateral relations, Pakistan and the United States have agreed to enhance their cooperation in the fields of Information Technology and Telecommunications. This agreement was reached during a meeting between US Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Donald Blome, and Pakistan’s Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja.

According to Press Information Department, the discussions focused on several key areas including the digitalization of Pakistan’s judicial system, promotion of the gaming industry, and the expansion of business-to-business relations. Minister Khawaja highlighted the progress of Pakistan’s IT and Telecom sectors and expressed the country’s desire to collaborate with the US to further develop these areas.

The meeting also addressed the exchange of IT experts and leveraging American experiences in technology to support Pakistan’s National Digitalization Plan, which aims at enhancing connectivity and quality broadband services across the country.
