Pakistan and Turkiye Commit to Enhanced Military Partnership


ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Turkiye have pledged to enhance their military cooperation, with an emphasis on training initiatives and joint military exercises. This commitment emerged from a meeting held at the Naval Headquarters in Islamabad between General Levent ERGÜN, the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces, and Admiral Naveed Ashraf, the Chief of the Naval Staff of Pakistan.



According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions during the meeting included professional matters of mutual interest, the regional maritime security environment influenced by the Israel-US-Iran conflict, and bilateral defense collaboration. Admiral Naveed Ashraf highlighted the contributions of the Pakistan Navy to regional maritime security, while General Levent ERGÜN recognized these efforts and their significance in fostering collaborative maritime security.



The visit of General Levent ERGÜN underscores the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Turkiye, reflecting their shared commitment to ensuring a secure and stable maritime environment. Upon his arrival at the Naval Headquarters, General ERGÜN was received by Admiral Naveed Ashraf, marking the commencement of the high-level discussions.
