ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan and Prime Minister Christopher Luxon of New Zealand engaged in a telephone conversation to discuss the current developments in the Middle East. The conversation highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to promote peace in the region and the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif informed Prime Minister Luxon about Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at de-escalating tensions in the Middle East. Sharif detailed Pakistan’s outreach, which includes engagement with both Washington and Tehran, to foster dialogue and stability in the region.
Prime Minister Luxon acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts and expressed his best wishes for the success of these mediation attempts. Both leaders reiterated their commitment to advancing peace and stability, not just in the Middle East, but globally. They expressed satisfaction with the friendly relations between Pakistan and New Zealand and recognized the positive role of the Pakistani diaspora in New Zealand.
The conversation also included an invitation from Prime Minister Sharif to Prime Minister Luxon for an official visit to Pakistan. Both leaders agreed to maintain close contact in the future to further bolster their bilateral cooperation.
