Islamabad: Pakistan and Egypt have reached an agreement to enhance collaboration between their interior ministries with a focus on joint police training, counter-terrorism efforts, and the implementation of modern security systems.
According to Radio Pakistan, the understanding was achieved during a meeting in Islamabad between Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, and a delegation from Egypt led by Major General Magdy Helena. The discussions centered on exploring ways to strengthen cooperation in various areas, including security, counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, cybercrime, and Safe City technologies.
A significant aspect of the agreement involved expanding collaboration between Pakistan’s National Police Academy and Egypt’s Police Academy. This initiative aims to establish structured joint training programs for officers from both countries. Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that the Egyptian delegation’s visit marked an essential step towards identifying new areas for mutual cooperation.
