Islamabad: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting held a ceremony in Islamabad to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China, emphasizing the longstanding cooperation between the two nations. The event saw attendance from prominent figures including Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Secretary Information Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil, and Deputy Head of Mission Embassy of China Shi Yuanqiang, alongside a large audience.
According to Radio Pakistan, Minister Ahsan Iqbal highlighted the evolution of the Pak-China relationship from its inception to a comprehensive strategic partnership. He described the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a significant bridge to development and shared prosperity. He also announced plans for Pakistan’s first astronaut to join a Chinese space mission in 2026, marking another milestone in the partnership.
Minister Attaullah Tarar reaffirmed the deep-rooted nature of the Pak-China friendship, saying it has been cherished across generations. He emphasized the shared natural and diplomatic bonds between the two countries.
Shi Yuanqiang, Deputy Head of Mission at the Chinese Embassy, acknowledged the historical significance of this anniversary, noting the enduring support between the nations. He congratulated the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for organizing the event successfully.
Secretary Information Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil reflected on the celebration as a testament to the enduring partnership and the stories that bind the two countries. He extended gratitude to all participants for their roles in the event, which included the screening of a documentary on Pakistan-China relations and a cake-cutting ceremony to commemorate the anniversary.
