Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet convened under the leadership of Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, to approve several crucial Technical Supplementary Grants (TSGs).
According to Press Information Department, the ECC authorized a proposal from the Ministry of National Food Security and Research to supply an additional 50,000 metric tons of PASSCO wheat to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, priced at Rs. 4,150 per 40 kilograms, aiding the province in fulfilling its wheat demands. The meeting also agreed to a TSG of Rs. 2,674.13 million for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to support federal public information campaigns in the fiscal year 2025-26.
Other significant approvals included a TSG of Rs. 860 million for projects under the Strategic Plans Division/SUPARCO, focusing on space exploration and observatory establishments. Furthermore, a grant of Rs. 646 million was sanctioned for the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control to support the operational needs of the Frontier Corps in Balochistan. Additionally, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs received a TSG of Rs. 5 billion directed towards compensating dock workers under the Karachi Dock Labour Board.
The ECC also sanctioned a Rs. 10 million grant for the Parliamentary Affairs Division to facilitate arrangements for the upcoming Budget Session of Parliament. The session saw participation from several federal ministers, including those attending virtually, alongside senior officials from various ministries and divisions.
