Islamabad: The Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, emphasized the importance of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) between Pakistan and Belarus as a crucial platform for enhancing bilateral cooperation. The JMC, he noted, plays a key role in identifying priorities, tracking progress, and shaping strategic directions to bolster the partnership between the two nations.

According to Radio Pakistan, during his address at the 9th Session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in Islamabad, Jam Kamal highlighted the Joint Trade Commission as the foundation of the bilateral relationship. He acknowledged the long-standing relationship between Pakistan and Belarus, characterized by mutual trust and a shared commitment to constructive engagement.

Jam Kamal outlined the evolution of Pakistan-Belarus relations, which have extended beyond political dialogues to encompass collaboration in trade, industry, agriculture, education, healthcare, science and technology, and human resource development. Despite geographical distances, he noted, the two countries have maintained a reliable partnership aimed at economic progress and sustainable development.

The Minister for Commerce underscored the potential benefits of establishing a joint working group on trade, which would facilitate regular dialogue and explore new commercial opportunities. He highlighted significant growth in labor and human resource development and welcomed advancements under the Labour and Employment Agreement, stressing the importance of institutional collaboration to enhance skills development and mobility of skilled professionals.

Additionally, Jam Kamal advocated for expanded collaboration in agriculture, food security, and technology sectors, as well as quality infrastructure and vocational training. He expressed optimism that these efforts would lead to higher standards, improved productivity, and increased confidence in both markets.
