Islamabad: Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide is set to arrive in Pakistan tomorrow for a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. This visit marks the first by a Norwegian Foreign Minister in a decade and comes at the invitation of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
According to Radio Pakistan, the visit will feature delegation-level talks between the two countries, focusing on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, climate change, renewable energy, education, and fostering people-to-people contacts. Discussions will also cover significant regional and international developments.
The visit is part of ongoing high-level interactions between Pakistan and Norway, which include telephone discussions between the foreign ministers in March and April 2026, and a visit by Norway’s State Secretary, Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik, to Islamabad in May. The visit aims to further solidify the longstanding and cordial relations between the two nations while exploring new areas of mutual interest.
