Security Forces Engage in Deadly Clash with Khwarij on Pakistan-Afghanistan Border

Kurram: In a significant confrontation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, twelve members of the Khwarij and Afghan Taliban were killed during an intense exchange of fire with security forces in Kurram District. The clash resulted in the death of Naib Subedar Hidayat Aman, a member of the security forces, who was killed while valiantly defending the area.

According to Radio Pakistan, the incident occurred when a group of Khwarij was detected attempting to cross the international border from Afghanistan into Pakistan. The infiltration attempt was met with resistance from Pakistani security forces, who were on high alert. The engagement turned intense when Afghan Taliban posts reportedly opened fire to assist the Khwarij in their crossing efforts. The exchange concluded with the deaths of twelve individuals identified as Khwarij and Afghan Taliban members.

The incident has once again highlighted Pakistan’s concerns regarding the Afghan Taliban regime’s failure to prevent the use of Afghan territory by terrorist groups for cross-border activities. The attack underscores the ongoing challenges faced by Pakistan in securing its borders and addressing cross-border terrorism.

In response to the incident, a sanitization operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining threats in the area, which are suspected to be supported by foreign entities. The Pakistani security forces have reaffirmed their commitment to national defense and their determination to continue counterterrorism operations under the “Azm e Istehkam” vision, as endorsed by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

The recent sacrifices of Pakistani soldiers have been emphasized as a testament to the country’s unwavering resolve to protect its sovereignty and maintain stability in the region.
