Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has disbursed ex-gratia assistance to the families of 34 coal-mine workers who perished in the recent Balochistan mining incident. Each bereaved family received a cheque for Rs. 2 million in a move directed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
According to Press Information Department, the NDMA distributed the financial aid in Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with coordination from local representative Dr. Ibadullah Khan. The initiative underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting affected communities and prioritizing the welfare of workers in high-risk occupations.
