Islamabad: The National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), a department of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, has launched a National Outreach Programme for Faculty Development at the University of Balochistan. The four-week initiative is designed to enhance the teaching and professional skills of Lecturers and Assistant Professors using modern pedagogical methods.
According to Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the programme was formally initiated by Vice Chancellor of the University of Balochistan, Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Bazai. The aim is to bolster the faculty’s capacity building and professional development through contemporary academic practices. Dr. Bazai expressed gratitude to NAHE’s Managing Director, Dr. Noor Amna Malik, for facilitating this effort, highlighting its potential to contribute to both faculty capacity and academic excellence.
Dr. Bazai emphasized the importance of investing in faculty development, viewing it as an investment in the students’ future. He encouraged participants to incorporate the knowledge and innovative teaching practices acquired during the training into their teaching methods.
The event was also attended by Director of University Training and Development Centre, Mr. Jahangir Khan, who welcomed participants and acknowledged the support of NAHE and HEC. Assistant Directors NAHE, Mr. Tahir Mehmood and Mr. Ahsan Younas, also addressed the attendees, stressing the need for continuous faculty development in adapting to changing educational demands.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Ghulam Razaq Shahwani, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences Prof. Dr. Sobia Ramzan, and faculty members from different academic departments participated in the inaugural ceremony.
