Islamabad: In an effort to improve foundational learning for out-of-school children, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) has introduced innovative Non-Formal Education Teacher Aid Kits across multiple regions. Secretary MoFEPT, Mr. Nadeem Mahbub, visited a National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) Non-Formal Education Centre in Bhara Kahu to assess the integration of these kits into classroom activities.
According to Press Information Department, the initiative involves the distribution of 3,450 kits to teachers in Islamabad Capital Territory, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. The kits are tailored for non-formal and accelerated learning environments, promoting literacy and numeracy through interactive teaching methods. Each kit contains 17 educational items, such as flashcards, puzzles, and educational games, designed to facilitate engaging and inclusive instruction in multigrade classrooms.
During the visit, Secretary Mahbub engaged with teacher Ms. Maryam Imran and 57 students to observe the practical application of the kits. He emphasized the role of these resources in enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes. The visit highlighted MoFEPT’s commitment to providing effective learning tools and training for non-formal education teachers.
To aid the implementation of these kits, MoFEPT has organized ICT-based orientation sessions focusing on their effective use and activity-based teaching strategies. The initiative reflects a broader effort to equip teachers with the necessary tools to deliver quality education in diverse learning environments.
