Islamabad: The Minister of State for Finance and Revenue, Bilal Azhar Kayani, conducted a consultative meeting with representatives from the Women Chambers of Commerce and Industry across Pakistan, focusing on women’s economic inclusion and entrepreneurship. Approximately 40 Women Chambers participated in the session held at the Finance Division, engaging in discussions about the federal budget-making process and strategies to enhance the role of women in the nation’s economy.
According to Press Information Department, the delegation, led by FPCCI Vice President Qurrat ul Ain, discussed challenges faced by women entrepreneurs and proposed measures for increasing women’s participation in economic activities and public policymaking. The representatives emphasized skill development, better access to Special Economic Zones, and opportunities for women-led enterprises. Their proposals are being considered in the ongoing budget preparation process.
Mr. Kayani acknowledged the contributions of women entrepreneurs to economic development and reiterated the Government’s commitment to expanding opportunities for women. He highlighted the government’s initiatives under Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership to promote women’s participation in economic and social development. The Minister assured the delegation that their concerns and suggestions would be integrated into the policymaking process, affirming his support for women’s economic empowerment.
