Sufi-Opera Star Saira Peter Shines at Royal Albert Hall, Wins National Praise


Islamabad: Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi has lauded the historic performance of Pakistan’s Sufi-opera star Saira Peter at London’s Royal Albert Hall. The Minister described this achievement as a moment of pride for the nation, emphasizing Pakistan’s expanding role in global cultural and classical music circles.



According to Press Information Department, the Minister highlighted that Saira Peter’s performance before an audience of 5,000 at the Royal Albert Hall has enhanced Pakistan’s cultural image and illustrated the unifying power of music across Eastern and Western traditions. Her fusion of Sufi music with Western opera was noted as a unique artistic expression reflecting Pakistan’s cultural diversity and creativity.



The Minister commended her collaboration with international musicians and choirs, describing it as a “remarkable example of cultural diplomacy.” He remarked that such performances contribute to promoting a positive image of Pakistan globally and create opportunities for young artists in music, arts, and cultural exchange.
