ISLAMABAD: Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has instructed the National Highway Authority to prioritize road safety by enhancing engineering practices in the construction of new highways. During a meeting held in Islamabad, Khan emphasized the importance of engaging foreign experts and adopting international best practices to improve road design and ensure safer travel on national motorways.
According to Radio Pakistan, the minister highlighted the NHA’s success in achieving its revenue enhancement targets over the past two years, which now allows the authority to initiate new road projects with funds generated from existing sources. The meeting also reviewed the progress of various ongoing projects, underscoring the need for continuous improvement in highway design to increase safety and comfort for motorists.
