Islamabad, August 21, 2021 (PPI-OT): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain has regretted the opposition to the proposed Media Development Authority. In his tweets on Saturday, he said every change to the proposed law is acceptable to the media owners, except the right of media workers to approach media tribunals to enforce the agreement with their organization and imposition of fine on fake news.

He, however, said it is our duty to give poor media workers the right to legal redress. The Information Minister questioned as to how the fake news can be considered a right of a media owner. He said there is no protection for the common man, poor media worker and public interest in our current media model.
