ISLAMABAD: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk has undertaken a comprehensive review of the implementation of a paperless licensing system at the driving license test centers in the capital. The initiative aims to streamline processes, enhance transparency, and reduce the reliance on paperwork for citizens seeking driving licenses.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the review meeting was held at the Traffic Police Headquarters in Faizabad and was attended by SP Traffic Majid Iqbal and branch in-charges. The CTO directed that all licensing processes be fully digitized, incorporating features such as online appointments, biometric verification, and digital record management to align with contemporary standards.
In addition to licensing reforms, CTO Virk highlighted the importance of leveraging modern technology to improve traffic management across the city. He instructed the development of special traffic plans for peak hours, called for strict measures against illegal parking, and urged enhancements in the performance of field officers.
Later, CTO Virk inspected the “Mechanic on Wheels” service, emphasizing the need for officers to provide consistent and prompt assistance to citizens. He praised the officers’ performance and reminded the public of the available helpline-1915 for accessing the free vehicle breakdown service.
