ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police has ramped up its search and combing operations across the federal capital in a bid to maintain law and order, curb criminal activities, and ensure the safety of its citizens.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operations are being conducted under the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. In August, the police carried out 145 such operations throughout the city, scrutinizing 9,317 individuals, 3,993 houses, 274 hotels, 1,027 shops, 4,908 motorcycles, and 1,720 vehicles.

These operations led to the detention of 251 suspicious individuals, as well as the seizure of five vehicles and 453 motorcycles, which were moved to various police stations for further verification and legal action. Additionally, four suspects involved in drug and illegal weapons-related activities were arrested, with police recovering ice, a dagger, and three pistols with ammunition from their possession.

IGP Rizvi has instructed officers to continue and intensify these operations, focusing on using available resources effectively to prevent crime and ensure citizen protection. The operations aim to identify criminal and suspicious elements, curb illegal weapons and drug activities, and provide a secure environment for residents.

Islamabad Police has urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement officials during these checks and to report any suspicious persons, vehicles, or activities to the nearest police station or Pucar-15. The protection of lives and property and the maintenance of peace and security remain top priorities for the Islamabad Police.
