ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested 34 individuals in a wide-ranging crackdown targeting drug traffickers, illegal weapons, and wanted offenders across the federal capital. This action is part of an intensified effort to curb criminal activities and ensure public safety.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation follows directives from Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. In the course of this campaign, police teams apprehended 15 suspects linked to drug trafficking and the illegal possession of firearms. Authorities seized 540 grams of hashish, 1,563 grams of a substance known as ice, and seven pistols with ammunition from those detained.

Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects, and investigations are ongoing.

In a concurrent operation aimed at apprehending proclaimed offenders, individuals with criminal histories, and court absconders, police arrested 19 additional suspects. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the ongoing commitment to protecting citizens’ lives and property. He highlighted the “No to Weapon” initiative, which targets illegal firearms and related offenses.

Raza also noted the police’s dedication to capturing proclaimed offenders and those with prior criminal records while ensuring citizens have swift access to justice. He encouraged the public to report suspicious activities to local police stations or the Pucar-15 emergency helpline to foster collaboration between law enforcement and the community for a safer capital.
