ISLAMABAD: In a comprehensive initiative to curb crime and enhance security, the Islamabad Police conducted a series of search and combing operations across the federal capital, checking a total of 496 individuals. This effort followed the directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at cracking down on criminal activities in the city.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operations were supervised by SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, with monitoring by respective zonal SPs. The extensive checks included 226 households, 62 shops, 21 hotels, 271 motorcycles, and 94 vehicles. As part of the operation, 17 suspicious individuals and 27 motorcycles were taken to police stations for further verification.

The police operations also led to the arrest of individuals involved in the possession of illegal weapons, with the recovery of two pistols of various calibers and accompanying ammunition. SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, emphasized that these operations aim to tighten the grip on criminal elements and bolster the city’s security.

The operations are being conducted across different areas of the district, with the Islamabad Police maintaining an indiscriminate stance against criminal elements, including land grabbers and drug dealers.
