Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has emphasized the importance of national unity to achieve lasting peace and prosperity in Balochistan. Speaking at the Balochistan National Workshop in Islamabad, he highlighted the need for active involvement of the province’s youth in its development, asserting that their participation and trust are crucial for sustainable peace.

According to Radio Pakistan, Gillani reaffirmed the state’s commitment to safeguarding provincial rights and promoting equitable development throughout the country. He noted Balochistan’s significant role in Pakistan’s economic and security future due to its strategic location, abundant resources, and potential as a trade link between South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East.

Gillani condemned the recent terrorist attacks attributed to Indian-backed proxies and militant groups, which he said are aimed at destabilizing Pakistan. He praised the Armed Forces, Frontier Corps, police, and other law enforcement agencies for their dedication and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He underscored the nation’s unwavering support for security institutions and honored those who have died in service.

Expressing optimism, Gillani urged workshop participants to contribute positively to Pakistan’s future by gaining a deeper understanding of Balochistan’s challenges and opportunities. He called for collective efforts toward a united, peaceful, and prosperous Pakistan.
