Inspector General of Punjab has announced the commencement of foreign scholarships for the higher education of constables, head constables, martyrs, and the children of ghazis

Lahore, August 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar is taking special measures for the welfare of police martyrs and ghazis. In continuation of which, IG Punjab has announced the release of foreign scholarships for higher education of children of constables, head constables, martyrs and ghazis.

In a special message recorded from wall of martyrs and ghazis at the Central Police Office, IG Punjab paid tribute to the eternal sacrifices of martyrs and ghazis. IG Punjab said that the department will play its part in the educational expenses of the children of police officers who are admitted in the world’s top rated universities. First of all, DSP Tariq Kamboh Shaheed’s daughter will be supported in higher education from Germany.

Dr. Usman Anwar said that the police department will pay the educational expenses and ticket money of the children of the police officers who reach the top educational institutions based on their talent and hard work.

IG Punjab further stated that deserving top ten children from financially weak police employees will be provided the opportunity for higher education abroad, allowing them to fulfill their dreams of receiving education in prestigious institutions and making a meaningful impact on society.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that since 1970, more than 1600 Punjab police personnel have sacrificed their lives on duty, of which the Punjab government has provided houses only to the martyrs after 2017. Therefore, the department is taking steps to provide plots and houses to the rest of the martyrs with their own resources. IG Punjab said that steps are being taken by CCPO Lahore and RPOs, DPOs to provide homes to the heirs of martyrs after 2017. IG Punjab said that Chief Minister Punjab Syed Mohsin Naqvi and Punjab Cabinet are grateful for approving financial assistance of one crore rupees for the treatment of Ghazi personnel injured during duty.
