Islamabad: Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi convened a meeting to evaluate the security protocols in the federal capital, focusing on sensitive sites and the safety of key figures. The meeting, attended by senior police officials including DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq and SSP Special Protection Unit Muhammad Arslan Shahzaib, aimed at bolstering the security framework.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the discussions centered around enhancing counter-terrorism strategies through technological integration, intelligence collaboration, and improved inter-agency coordination. IGP Rizvi underscored the urgency of safeguarding citizens and property, mandating effective intelligence operations, vigilant surveillance, and increased patrolling in vulnerable areas.
The IGP also emphasized the need for improved coordination between control rooms and field units for swift emergency responses. He highlighted the importance of utilizing Safe City cameras and modern surveillance technologies, maintaining heightened security at pivotal installations, and advancing police training to meet contemporary standards.
Addressing administrative concerns, IGP Rizvi met with AIG Logistics Abdul Haq Umrani to assess the logistics division, focusing on police welfare. He instructed that essential facilities, modern equipment, and adequate transportation be promptly provided, alongside enhancements in housing and medical services for officers.
The IGP concluded the meeting by urging officers to uphold transparency and integrity in their duties, reinforcing public trust in the police force, and ensuring a secure environment for the capital’s residents.
