IGP Islamabad Hosts Open Court to Address Public Grievances

ISLAMABAD: In an effort to address public grievances and enhance community policing, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, held an open court, or khuli katchery, at the Central Police Office in Islamabad. The initiative aimed to provide a platform for citizens and police officers to voice their concerns directly to the police leadership.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, during the session, IGP Rizvi listened to the issues presented by attendees and issued on-the-spot directives to senior police officers for prompt resolution. Emphasizing the importance of merit-based problem-solving, Rizvi stated that negligence in duties would not be tolerated and encouraged citizens to approach the khuli katchery with any police-related issues. He assured that his office remains accessible to the public.

Further directives were issued by the IGP, instructing officers to resolve grievances within a stipulated timeframe and report back to the Central Police Office. He called upon all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) to adhere to office hours and prioritize addressing public issues.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad, Shakir Hussain Dawar, also held a similar session at his office, reinforcing the commitment of the Islamabad Police to facilitate citizens. Dawar highlighted the availability of the IGP Complaint Cell 1715 as an additional channel for citizens to register complaints. He reiterated the instructions from IGP Rizvi for senior officers to organize open courts throughout the district to ensure grievances are addressed efficiently.
