Islamabad Police Arrest 16 Suspects, Seize Drugs and Weapons


ISLAMABAD: In a significant operation targeting criminal activities, the Islamabad Police have apprehended 16 individuals and confiscated a substantial amount of drugs and weapons. The arrests are part of an ongoing effort to enhance security and maintain peace in the federal capital.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, seven suspects were detained for their involvement in various criminal acts. Law enforcement officials recovered 1,210 grams of hashish, 1,215 grams of heroin, 1,174 grams of ice, one dagger, and four pistols with ammunition from the suspects. Authorities have registered cases against these individuals, and investigations are currently underway.



In addition to these arrests, police conducted a special campaign to apprehend proclaimed offenders and absconders, resulting in the capture of three more criminals. The operations follow directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who has emphasized a strong crackdown on crime to ensure the safety and tranquility of the city.



Senior Superintendent of Police Security Operations Islamabad Suleman Zafar reiterated the police’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents. The police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to their local police station or via the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to facilitate the eradication of crime through community cooperation.
