IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Visits SOS Village, Engages with Orphans and Announces Sports Support

Karachi, In a heartwarming visit, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar spent time at SOS Village Amad, engaging with orphans and expressing his support for their well-being. This visit not only reflects Dr. Anwar’s compassionate approach but also the commitment of the Punjab Police to support vulnerable communities.

According to Punjab Police, during his visit, Dr. Usman Anwar met the children residing in the village, where he was presented with a bouquet by the Director of SOS Village, Almas Butt, and other officers. The IG Punjab took a tour of the facilities, gaining insight into the living, educational, and health care provisions for the children.

Highlighting the importance of sports and physical activities in the development of children, IG Punjab announced a friendly cricket match between the ladies police team and the children of SOS Village. This match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 23, at the SOS Village ground. Dr. Anwar also declared that the Punjab Police would provide cricket, football, and badminton kits to the SOS Village children’s team, further nurturing their involvement in sports.

Dr. Anwar’s interaction with the orphans went beyond formalities, as he actively participated in cricket, badminton, and football games with the children at the SOS Village Sports Ground. This gesture of engagement and compassion exemplifies the humane side of law enforcement leadership.

In his address, IG Punjab commended the efforts of the SOS Village administration for providing exemplary housing, education, and health facilities to orphans and destitute children. He mentioned that the Punjab Police, through its protection centers, is also dedicated to supporting and caring for victims of child labor and destitution.
